Little Adventures

Our story

How It All Began

It all started back in 1994, when two mischievous, adventure loving 15-year-olds — Tom and Graham — met and instantly became friends.

From that day on, they grew up side by side, sharing countless adventures, plenty of laughter, and a fair few (sometimes painful) lessons learned along the way.

Fast forward to 2019, when Graham began a new chapter in his life as a professional dog walker.

After the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, he found it increasingly difficult to find safe, quiet places where his dogs could run free and enjoy themselves without worry. After chatting with clients and fellow dog walkers, Graham realised that many others were searching for exactly the same thing — a peaceful, sociable, and secure place to bring their dogs.

One day, during a good old catch-up, Tom and Graham got talking — and that conversation sparked an idea. What if they created their own secure space? A field where Graham’s pack of dogs could roam, explore, and play safely off-leash.

After that lightbulb moment, the real work began — and let’s just say, it wasn’t all belly rubs and wagging tails!

They reached out to a local farmer Tom knew, who (after a bit of friendly persuasion and perhaps a few well-timed cups of tea) kindly agreed to rent them a piece of land.

With the land secured, the next hurdle loomed — planning permission. What they thought would be a quick bit of paperwork turned into a marathon that lasted over a year. There were forms, meetings, more forms, and the occasional moment of wondering if they should’ve just taken up knitting instead.

But eventually, approval came through — and that’s when the real work started. Sweat, blood, bad language and more sweat.

Tom and Graham rolled up their sleeves, gathered materials, borrowed tools, and set about transforming an empty field into a secure, welcoming haven for dogs and their humans alike.

Between full-time jobs, unpredictable weather, and the odd DIY disaster, progress was slow but steady — fuelled mostly by good humour, determination, and the thought of happy tails running freely.

By June 2024, the park was ready for its first test runs, and by November 2024, Little Adventures proudly opened its gates to the public.

It wasn’t easy, but every splinter, blister, and muddy boot was worth it. That once-empty field is now a thriving space filled with laughter, wagging tails, and a whole lot of heart.

And so, Little Adventures was born — out of friendship, a shared love of the outdoors, and a passion for giving dogs the freedom and joy they truly deserve.

Today, our goal remains simple: to provide a safe, welcoming environment where dogs can play, explore, and have their own little adventures — while their owners can relax, knowing they’re in good hands (and let’s be honest, the cracking view doesn’t hurt either!).
